AusMumpreneur’s set to Award Australia’s Best Mums in Business

When more than 270 mums sit down at Melbourne’s Crown Casino for the annual AusMumpreneur awards, talk of babies, husbands, nappies and sleep will take a back seat to conversations about turnover, marketing strategies, SEO rankings and global domination.

This year, 300 businesses are nominated across 18 categories for the St.George Banking Group AusMumpreneur Awards. Now in their seventh year, and according to Peace Mitchell, co-owner and founder of AusMumpreneur, small businesses are growing at a frenetic pace.

The number of Australian businesses registered by women has tripled. There are 330,000 Mumpreneurs in Australia with 65,000 in the AusMumpreneur network.

AusMumpreneur, Australia’s largest network of entrepreneurial mothers, has an impressive membership as well a strong online community. The annual turnover of these registered businesses range from $100, 000pa to multi-million dollar businesses.

Peace says that the awards are a great way of formally recognising the dedicated and financial savvy mums across the country.

“Our motto is based around flexibility, family and financial management. It couldn’t be represented more than at our annual conference where we’ll be celebrating, inspiring and elevating mums in business. What we’re seeing this year through our nominations is a strong focus toward product innovation and digital technology”.

From a network of 330,000 Mumpreneurs, we can clearly see that Australian mums are opting out of the traditional work model and creating a more flexible work life balance our community is striving to achieve.

“We can see that women are taking control of their financial future. They are investing in their skills by running a business and looking after their family” said Peace. Stuart Zalunardo, St.George Bank’s Head of SME said, “St.George is proud to partner with AusMumpreneur and celebrate the achievements of Australian women in business.”

This year’s awards will be held on Sunday 14 August at the Melbourne Crown Casino. For more details about AusMumpreneur go to ausmumpreneur.com.au
