National Sports Convention launched, aims to encourage more people to play, recreate and participate in sport

The National Sports Convention 2016 is a dedicated sport and recreation management conference aimed at focusing on how to encourage more people to play, recreate and participate in sport.

The over-arching National Sports Convention 2016 brand has been developed with key industry peak bodies and collaborators and will include a number of 2 day conferences; single day symposiums and master classes.

The National Sports Convention will be structured around 6 key areas – sports turf, playgrounds & equipment, programs, activities and events to grow participation, sports & recreation facilities, co-hosted symposium and master classes and a free expo. This will give a platform to Australia’s play, recreation, sport, aquatics, fitness and facility management sectors to learn, network and share best practice over the two days.

The National Sports Convention has the support of the industry, with sponsors confirmed including Polytan (platinum) and Tyrecycle (gold). The event will also work with World Rugby, Australian Rugby Union, Parks and Leisure Australia (NSW/ ACT) and the Australian Sporting Goods Association to bring a quality outcome.
